I’ve owned this milling machine for over 6 years. It was purchased at an auction and it has been an on and off project since then. In this first installment I cover the progress up to this point and discuss a bit of the future direction of the project.
The machine has been completely taken apart, all the rust removed and some of the paint touched up. The electronics have been removed and were sold off to other users still using the original control package.
There are a number of pieces that are missing that will have to be fabricated.
The control system will be replaced with the Centroid Acorn controller and Gecko drives.
