Counterweight Fabrication
This week I focused on replacing the missing Z axis counterweight. Again, having no history for the machine I have no idea why it was removed- but it certainly needs it. A few visits to CNC forums found some pictures of what the original was supposed to look like. Armed with that information and a rough idea of what it was supposed to weigh I got to work. This part of the project involved a little bit of everything- welding, machining, painting and melting down lead.
