This week I started disassembling and cleaning up the lighting channels from our King Amusement Rocket ride.
The lighting package operates on 120 Volts AC. A 3 channel electro-mechanical chaser unit controls the flashing pattern. The aluminum channels are loaded with old ceramic or porcelain sockets. These sockets hold multicolored glass bulbs.
I pull the channels apart in order to prep them for cleaning and polishing. I try a number of different methods for polishing the aluminum. Ideally, we are striving for a mirror finish.
Unfortunately, my work was cut short this week by attacking cicadas. Later I shift gears and get back to some paint stripping.
