I itemize the cost associated with retrofitting the DynaMyte 2800 with the Centroid Acorn CNC control system. Of value to anyone considering a similar project.
I Track down an oil leak feeding the ball nut, replace a torn belt, reposition the keyboard tray and install all the chip guards to draw this project to a close
Connecting the automatic lube system, tweaking the Centroid Virtual Control Panel, designing a custom ring light and modifying the Acorn PLC code.
Making more progress On the CNC retrofit including the tool height probe and start on some chip guarding but run into a gremlin with the one shot lube system.
This is the 1 year anniversary of the milling machine retrofit and we have it make its first chips. I also share before and after pictures of the project.
Replacing the DMM-Tech 750-Watt Servo motor with a 1-kWatt version and explaining the math behind the spindle inertia calculations.

The CNC milling machine retrofit marches on with more wiring. I designed the last iteration of the servo motor adapter plate (hopefully). The I 3-D printed the plate with ABS filament and mounted it to the machine.
