This week I focused on pulling apart the drive train on our King Amusement Company Rocket Ride. Over the years it appears like the entire shaft, which was originally bolted together, was welded solid.
So now, the only way to get it apart is to cut the welds. I don't want to remove any more metal than necessary- ideally just removing the weld.
I build a fixture to hold my angle grinder so I can make more controlled cuts and allow me to split the upper shaft from the drive sprocket.
This is some first class fabri-cobbling here if I do say so myself.
